I made a version of this for a friend from work, and realized I was not happy about giving it away at all! So I immediately cast on for another shawl, making three small modifications. First, I did the edging as a three stitch i-cord, which I prefer to a garter edge. I cast on for three sections rather than two, to make a half hexagon, and I extended the lace section at the bottom until it got too tedious to continue working on. Those purl rows are really very, very tedious! But I’m happy with how it turned out, and wish I had gotten it blocked sooner-it took me over a week to get the motivation to wash & block the darn thing (not to mention write up all the projects that got finished while we were in Maine).
